A diagonal crossing of Australia, passing through its main deserts in extremely hot weather (the hottest Australian summer in recorded history). It was a long and difficult expedition, through large uninhabited expanses of the outback with all the dangers of the Australian deserts. In some areas there was no water for 300-400km which meant Juan having to carry up to 60 litres of water with him to survive. He had to push the bike for kilometres through deep sand on many occasions in temperatures of up to 50°C. This is considered to be the hardest coast-to-coast crossing ever to be done by bike.
